His face is round and lacking in the classic aristocratic features of a pureblood apart from his pointed chin and he wishes he could be tall like Sirius, Remus and James. He keeps his hair short because it is brittle and usually dry if it grows over his ears in spite of the fact that he has tried to grow it with special conditioning products. He tries to hide his emotions but they are clear in his eyes and often give him away. When and if he grows facial hair it is patchy and usually no more than a light moustache because he forgot to shave. PB: Shawn Ashmore Personality: Peter could be a carefree spirit with a selfless streak but he is a greedy young man who wants nothing more than to be happy at whatever expense. He is a great friend to the three closest to him and certainly would do anything for Lily Evans Potter, but beyond that he thinks most people are detestable because he knows they don't like him. He'll tolerate them and put on a happy facade but deep down he'd rather avoid everyone who isn't his closest friend. He is generally suspicious but if a person is obviously more powerful than he is, Peter will buckle under or retreat to the safety of a friend. His courageous (or "Gryffindor") moments are few and far between but they do happen when he has a purpose. Generally the Marauders disappointed in him or ganging up against him if not himself dead. Patronus: Managed a light mist once and hasn't tried since. History: Peter was a mistake. His parents weren't planning to have any children and in fact his mother Abigail believed she was barren due to a childhood illness that had her hospitalised for some time. Jonathan Pettigrew thought a son would be nice but had accepted that they would be childless when he met and soon married his wife. Yet one year and a half into the marriage Peter came along. He was premature and they believed it would be a good sign as so many babies born premature would fight and grow to be better than those carried to full term. Peter surprised and disappointed them yet again but they never told him that. He was loved in spite of not being planned and never once abused by his mother or father. His grandfather Christoph on the other hand would belittle him and verbally eviscerate him at every chance. The man's hope was that Peter would grow strong and fight back but Abigail was too protective of him and he became dependent on her or his father. After a time the Pettigrews came to no longer expect anything extraordinary from Peter, so it was a pleasant surprise when he got his letter for Hogwarts. Peter strived to please his parents, hide from his grandfather, grow up quickly and be a great wizard. He wanted to be extraordinary even if his parents said they loved him no matter what. The damage Christoph had done was thorough and he hoped to surround himself with greatness if nothing else. On the train to Hogwarts he got his wish. Sirius Black? James Potter? These were names he knew would please his parents. They even turned out to be great guys and Remus Lupin rounded off their group nicely in his eyes. They accepted him and Peter was thrilled that he was part of the in crowd. Sirius, James and Remus were smarter than Peter but they were patient with him and he did try his best to keep up. He noticed things a beat too late or after they had been explained to him, but he could tell his friends were something special. Sirius and James were the height of cool and no one needed to explain that to him. Peter felt like he was cool by association and went through his school terms with a veil of ignorance over his eyes. Because of his friends he became an illegal Animagus and when they created the Marauder's Map it was his idea to put the footprints on it. He didn't even mind that he was a rat when Sirius and James were a proud stag and a grand dog because they taught him how to change and they named him affectionately when Sirius mistook his tail for a worm in their dorm. When they hit their growth spurts Peter didn't quite reach their height. He felt weird being the oldest and yet the shortest of the group, but they didn't shun him so he didn't mind after a while. Peter grew to have an admiration for his friends that some joked was homosexual in nature, but he never saw it that way. He rooted for James to get with Lily all through school and was beside himself with joy when they finally did. He saw Sirius was a happy flirt and didn't bother rooting for anything else. He decided Remus was fine too and agreed with the idea that being a werewolf would limit a relationship so he only pushed when James and Sirius did. Peter made up situations or changed the subject when the topic was his own love life because he never had the urge to pursue one. In fact he was too afraid of being rejected that he kept his focus on his friends so that he missed any possible attempt of puberty. Once Hogwarts was done Peter's parents bought him a flat and gave him the key to his vault in Gringott's as a present. It was a small flat, but it was his. The money was a large amount that grew when Peter got his favourite present of all - Christoph died a week before Peter's 18th birthday. Now living in that flat in London near a bakery within walking distance of the Leaky Cauldron, Peter doesn't work. He credits his friends for his grades and figures he couldn't hold a job of worth on his own so he takes his lead from James and prefers to just be there when his friends need him. | |||||||||
